This is part of a series of articles designed to help you and your teams to move through the seven stages of change when it comes to AI readiness in the workplace.
In the previous article we wrote about stage 1 (shock) of the Kubler-Ross Change Curve and some actions you and your teams can take to make sure that no one is left at this stage. If your team is over the shock, at some point, they might find themselves in denial.
STAGE 2 – DENIAL
Despite some of your team members possibly spending some time in denial not wanting to engage with AI, deep down we all know that it is not just a passing trend.
Just like the personal computer and the internet that revolutionised the workplace for previous generations (and were similarly dismissed as fads by some at the time), AI is here to stay.
AI is fundamentally reshaping industries, roles, and how work gets done. Organisations that delay understanding and integrating AI are already falling behind.
So how can you support your teams through this stage?
- Offer concrete evidence and examples to demonstrate that AI is becoming a successful part of the organisation.
- Provide your teams with opportunities for safe, non-threatening exposure that fits in with your AI Policy.
- Frame AI not as a distant threat, but as a present reality that demands attention.
Next we’ll be taking a detailed look at the Frustration stage. In the meantime why not take a look at our free quiz to find out whereabouts on the curve you are at the moment?
