This is part of a series of articles designed to help you and your teams to move through the seven stages of change when it comes to AI readiness in the workplace.
In previous articles we wrote about stages 1 – 5 of the Kubler-Ross Change Curve (Shock, Denial, Frustration, Depression, Experiment) in relation to AI, and some actions you and your teams can take to move forwards through these. Have your people moved on to the decision stage yet?
STAGE 6 – DECISION
Your organisation has moved through the initial reactions to AI, and has likely reached a point of decision. You recognise that AI is not just a trend, but a fundamental shift that will redefine how your organisation operates, innovates, and competes.
You’re ready to take the leap. The question is no longer IF, but HOW and WHEN you will strategically integrate AI.
What’s important now, is to make concrete choices about equipping your workforce with the skills, understanding, and confidence to leverage AI responsibly and effectively.
Here’s how you can help your team get ready:
- Reinforce the business vision and purpose of the change.
- Identify your AI enthusiasts and make them AI champions.
- Speak to your IT Training provider. Great AI training is not just about using apps like ChatGPT, Copilot and Gemini! Training should always include the limitations of AI, risks and ethical considerations to ensure safe, responsible AI use.
- Ensure that bespoke business-case-specific training is available to you.
- Set teams pre-work so that they come along to the training with at least one task that they want to simplify with AI.
- Provide clear direction, resources, and opportunities for continued learning and development.
Next we’ll be taking a detailed look at the Integration stage. In the meantime why not take a look at our free quiz to find out whereabouts on the curve you are at the moment?
