Microsoft Project Training

Microsoft Project Training

We provide Microsoft Project training to users of all levels. Project is an essential tool for project managers, although it can be difficult to just “dabble with”. We will ensure that the fundamental principles are fully understood, and how these can be applied in real-world scenarios. This enables delegates to decide the best approach for using Project in their own specific role.

We will consult with you before delivering any training to discuss how your team currently (or would like to) use Microsoft Project in order to put together a bespoke course that covers everything you need to do, and nothing you don’t.

Course content

Courses will suit those involved with project management who need to use Microsoft Project to create, manage and projects with tasks, costs and resources. Users will learn how to update, track and report on project information.

Typical content covered may include:

  • Initial setup of a project
  • Work breakdown structures, tasks, durations, resources and costs
  • Managing resource workloads
  • Updating progress, tracking and reporting

Training formats available

We can deliver Microsoft Project training on-site at your premises or online, in any of the following formats (click to find out more):

On-site Classroom Training

On-site IT classroom training – the classic setup. A room of people on laptops, and one instructor up the front.

Traditional yet interactive sessions for up to eight people. A lively modern approach combining presentation, live demonstrations, and hands-on practical sessions.

Online Virtual Classroom

Online training sessions held live in a virtual classroom environment via remote software such as Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams.

Delivery is in a similar structure to traditional training courses, except that the instructor and all attendees connect remotely on their computers.

Q&A Workshop Sessions

Q&A Workshops take more of a relaxed conversational approach to training. They can take place either in the form of a group forum, or with the instructor walking the floor of the office to speak to users in their day-to-day environment.

Many people find it easier to translate abstract theory into real-world examples and practice when they are outside the more formal environment of the classroom and sat at their own desk.

One-to-One Training and Consultancy

Individual one-to-one training sessions can go into greater depth than is viable in a group scenario, which can be extremely beneficial for power users.

Another popular application for one-to-one sessions is where a train-the-trainer approach is sought, in order to facilitate future in-house learning.
